Cleaners

In metalworking, there are various cleaning processes that can be used depending on the type of soiling, the type of metal and the specific requirements. Here are some common cleaning methods used in metalworking:

  • Mechanical cleaning: Mechanical cleaning processes involve the removal of contaminants through the use of mechanical forces. This can be done by brushing, scrubbing, blasting with compressed air or mechanical polishing. Mechanical cleaning is effective for removing coarser soiling or deposits.
  • Chemical cleaning: Chemical cleaning methods use chemical solutions or cleaning agents to dissolve or dissolve impurities on the surface of the metal. Examples of chemical cleaning methods include dipping, spraying or applying cleaning solutions. These cleaning agents can have degreasing, derusting or special cleaning properties to achieve the desired results.
  • Ultrasonic cleaning: In ultrasonic cleaning, the workpiece is immersed in a liquid while ultrasonic vibrations are generated. These vibrations create tiny cavitation bubbles that loosen dirt particles from the surface of the metal. Ultrasonic cleaning is effective when cleaning complex components or areas that are difficult to access.
  • Steam cleaning: Steam cleaning involves the use of high-pressure steam to loosen and remove soiling. The hot steam penetrates the soiling and facilitates cleaning. Steam cleaning is effective for stubborn soiling and can be ecological as no chemical cleaning agents are required.
  • Dry cleaning: Dry cleaning uses methods such as compressed air or brushing to remove contaminants from the surface of the metal. This can be useful to remove loose particles or dust before further cleaning methods are applied.

The choice of the appropriate cleaning process depends on various factors, such as the type of soiling, the type of metal, the surface finish, the size of the workpiece and the specific requirements of the application.
