schmierstoffe -Übersicht

They consist of base oils such as mineral oils, synthetic oils or ester oils, which are enriched with property-enhancing additives to optimise lubricity and wear protection, ageing resistance, corrosion protection and foaming behaviour. These lubricants are used directly in the machining process without the addition of water.

In addition to the grinding oils and edm fluids from esgemo, a selected range of special lubricants like punching oils, forming oils, forging products, cutting oils, greases are available in the esgemo portfolio and offer a wide range of possibilities to optimise your processes. Simply contact us and let us advise you free of charge on which lubricants you can use to produce even more economically and with higher quality in the future. Because every task is different esgemo does not provide  standard solutions, but offers customised products that represent the optimum for each specific production process and unleash the corresponding potential in terms of productivity, tool life and service life.

These products are produced as concentrates and differentiated into emulsions and solutions.

Emulsifiable cooling lubricants consist of mineral oils or ester oils, which are mixed with up to 30 additives depending on the requirements. Biocides and fungicides are needed due to the risk of contamination of the water. An emulsifier system dsiperses the lubricants as fine, stable droplets in the water (oil-in-water emulsion). The concentrations are between approx. 3% and 20%, depending on the application. Typical for emulsions is their milky-white appearance.

In contrast to emulsions, solutions are free of mineral oil and consist of organic substances, e.g. polyglycol. Enriched with additives to prevent corrosion or foaming, the concentrations here are between approx. 3 % and 10%. The components of the concentrate dissolve completely, resulting in a clear, transparent appearance.

Lubricating greases are used to reduce friction and wear, lubricate moving parts and protect against corrosion.

Lubricating greases usually consist of a mixture of mineral oil or synthetic oils, thickened with a so-called "thickener". The thickener influences the consistency and enables the grease to adhere to the areas to be lubricated.

Lubricating greases have different properties, which are selected depending on the application. For example, some greases are designed for high temperatures and can also be used under extreme conditions. Other greases are water-resistant or have good oxidation resistance.

Lubricating greases are used in many areas, such as in the automotive industry for the lubrication of motors, gears and bearings, in mechanical engineering, for the maintenance of machines and systems, in the aerospace industry, in heavy industry, in mining and in many other applications where lubrication and friction reduction are important.

It is important to select the right grease for a specific application, as different greases are used for different operating conditions and requirements.

Biodegradable lubricants, also known as environmentally friendly lubricants, are special lubricants that are formulated in such a way that they can be broken down by microorganisms in the environment.

There are different types of biodegradable lubricants:

Biodegradable hydraulic fluids:

These lubricants are used in hydraulic systems and provide good lubrication and performance.

Biodegradable greases:

These greases are used for applications where solid lubrication is required, e.g. in bearings, sliding guides or chains. They usually consist of vegetable oil or synthetic ester oils.

Biodegradable lubricating oils:

These lubricants are used in engines, gearboxes and other applications where liquid lubricants are required. They can be based on vegetable oils or synthetic ester oils.

Biodegradable lubricants offer the advantage that they can be broken down by microorganisms in the environment.

This can help to reduce soil and water contamination. In addition, they can be used in applications. In addition, they cause less environmental pollution in applications where lubricant leakage is likely.

Compatibility and suitability for a specific application should always be carefully assessed as not all environmentally compatible lubricants can be used in all applications.

Grinding oils consist of hydrocarbon-based base oils and additives. Depending on the area of application and requirement profile, the choice of base oil can have a significant influence on the process parameters. The additives provide the properties required to machine different materials such as steel, HSS, PCD or carbide.

The quality and purity of the base oils that are used have a direct influence on the relevant parameters of the machining processes. With a targeted selection of the highest quality raw materials, consumption can be reduced, workplace exposure can be  lowered and surface finishes can be improved.

From a sustainability point of view, the long service life of synthetic hydrocarbons is now a relevant reason for using the highest quality base oils. Many years of use without the need for replacement are an outstanding argument. Reducing the quantities used over the years is a valuable contribution to conserving resources.
